What changes are we introducing?
In the PPL Product Terms and Conditions, we have added surcharges for mislabelling of heavier shipments for products of international transport to Germany in accordance with the new legal obligations of the German Postal Act. The new labelling method has been implemented in PPL’s logistics systems and shipments will be automatically labelled according to the indicated weight. The surcharge may apply to Direct Injection (PPL Parcel Europe) customers who indicate incorrect shipment weight in the data or on the label.
The change introduces a charge for increased DHL Packet freight related to the correction of mislabelling or misstatement of weight by the customer. Details and current documents can be found in the PPL Product Terms and Conditions Parcel Connect and PPL Parcel Connect Plus on our website.
We are switching to a new way of calculating the fuel surcharge that better reflects our environmental and sustainability efforts. As we continue to electrify our fleet, we are reducing the share reflecting the cost of diesel fuel and introducing a share related to the cost of electricity. Last year, among other things, we processed nearly 4 million shipments emission-free, we collected and delivered them with more than 140 alternative-fuel vehicles.
