PPL, the leading shipping company, has a new partnership with the Alza online store and is gradually integrating 1 200 AlzaBoxes into its pick-up point network. With this partnership, PPL is responding to the growing trend of delivering parcels to pick-up points, with the related time flexibility being so much appreciated by Czechs.
Apart from the possibility of picking up their parcel on the way from work or shopping, the price is also important for Czechs, as it is cheaper than delivery to an address.
The storage time, delivery price and weight limit of up to 31.5 kg are the same for AlzaBoxes as for PPL Parcelboxes. Parcels will be available in AlzaBoxes for customers for 72 hours after they receive an SMS or email. If the recipient is paying cash on delivery, they have two options - they can pay through the mojePPL mobile app or by clicking on the link in the email or SMS. Customers can also find a map of all the company's boxes and pick-up points on the mobile app and website. For PPL Parcelboxes, cash-on-delivery payment remains the same as before, either via the payment terminal on site or online via the mojePPL mobile app or website.
“The addition of AlzaBoxes will bring PPL closer to its goal of having 7 000 collection points in the Czech Republic by the end of 2023," explains Milan Loidl, business development & marketing director at PPL CZ.
The network coverage is already very dense. The over 3 600 partner locations (PPL Parcelshops) are complemented by 650 automated PPL Parcelboxes, which are available 24/7 and where picking up your parcel takes literally seconds. The company expects them to gradually become the most popular type of pick-up points, partly thanks to their higher capacity.
